I am sure at the time of D-Day both the SCR-510 and the SCR-694 were in wide use. So these two could talk to each other if they were close enough. It uses AM to transmit the signal in the range of 3.8 - 6.5 MHz. The SCR-694 was the one I was suggesting. It uses AM to transmit the signal in the frequency range of 3.5 - 6.0 MHz. The SCR-536 back then was called the "handie talkie" now we tend to call it a "walkie talkie" which is really what the SCR-300 was. Not too fun to hear if you want to have a Radio Jeep. Have a couple more placed out in the platoon and you have everything covered. Just throw it in back of the next Jeep you find and keep going. GrayWulf is right once the SCR-300 came along why mount it to the Jeep. So those two did not normally talk to each other. Its frequency range was 40 - 48 MHz with no changing out of crystals. The SCR-300 "walkie talkie" had a range of about 3 miles and also uses FM for modulating the signal. So in usage you might be swapping out crystals to talk to other than your normal folks. It uses FM to transmit the signal with a frequency range of 20 - 27.9 MHz by changing out the two active crystals in the radio with others.
